All the Edison representatives I and my husband have spoken with have been helpful, clear in their communication, and persistent. When I filed a claim for Hurricane Michael the very first rep I spoke with was very calm, kind, and polite. Within a matter of 24 hours I had an adjuster follow-up with me immediately. I was able to schedule an appointment immediately and even had to leave Orlando (safety zone) in order to meet with the adjuster. The process took exactly the amount of time the adjuster said it would. In between waiting for our documents in the mail, I had another rep contact me and provide me very valuable information. When I went online I was able to clearly see that my supervising adjuster had changed. It wasn't an issue because I simply called my new supervising adjuster and she returned my phone call within 2 business days. I received an email that representatives would be in town at a high school gymnasium so I went and received excellent customer service from two representatives. They helped me by speaking to a rep from my loan company because the company was using a third party and the website seemed "scammy." They both took the time to explain the process, provided me guidance, answered my questions and even waited for my husband to show up and then answer all of his questions as well. We are both first time homeowners and we have heard horror stories from a lot of people insured by other companies. I am very thankful Edison has treated us fairly and highly rely on their service.

How to make payments

Policyholders can make a payment to Edison by logging into their online. This account also lets policyholders stay up-to-date with their policy information or track a claim. To create an account, you'll need to register and setup an online profile. You will need your 10-character policy number and property zip code to register.

How to File a Claim

Claims can be submitted to Edison via phone or online. An inspector will be sent to your home within 72 hours to assess the damage. Edison urges policyholders to report claims immediately by calling 888.683.7971. If safe to do so, make temporary repairs as necessary to prevent further damage and protect your property. Also, take photos of the damage before making temporary repairs and keep detailed receipts. You will need to present these to the adjuster.

Edison says it is backed by only “A Rated” reinsurance companies. Its sister company Florida Peninsula says it has over $100 million in surplus capital and has secured coverage for a 100-year storm - including multiple storms in a single season - from some of the strongest and most respected "A" rated reinsurance companies in the world. Its reinsurance program also includes additional catastrophe protection provided by the Florida Hurricane Catastrophe Fund
